Mini First Aid Fife and Forth Valley offers a baby & child first aid class for parents, grandparents and carers.
Baby Proofing is our second class for parents, grandparnets and caregivers. It is must for those looking after little ones aged 6 months and over. The session is full of information to prevent accidents from happening in the home and garden.
We also run classes for children as young as three years old, training them in basic and life-saving first aid. Our kids classes can be delivered in nurseries and schools. We have three classes to choose from.

Our Adult awareness first aid class is perfect for anyone wanting to learn first aid to be in a position to help an adult family member or friend in a range of emergency situations.
Mini First Aid Fife and Forth Valley also offers FAIB accredited, fully certified Paediatric and First Aid at Work qualification First Aid courses.
Hi, I'm Lynsay. I run Mini First Aid in Fife and Forth Valley. From Tayport to Tyndrum, Kirkcaldy to Killin, I am excited to be bringing Mini First Aid to you! As mum to 2 teenage lads, we have had our fair share of bumps, falls and minor injuries over the years. I believe first aid is a vital life skill that everyone should have to call on if ever an emergency should happen. It may even save a life! I started my career as a radiographer working in the NHS for 20 years in hospitals across Fife, Lothian and Tayside. I then ran the Scottish Cot Death Trust charity for 9 years. Combining my love of meeting people, delivering practical training that makes a difference and equipping families with important skills is amazing.
My name is Claire and I am a First Aid Trainer. I was a nurse in the NHS for 15 years until we moved to Texas in the USA where I spent some time as a school nurse. Recently I have worked in a local primary school as a first aider. I am also a mum to two daughters. In my career and parent life I have dealt with lots of different first aid situations! As a nurse in cardiology I realised just how important that everyone knows what to do in an emergency first aid situation. I love teaching and am passionate about helping people learn such important life skills💚
I cannot recommend Mini First Aid enough. Kate ran a private class for me and my 11 year old daughter in the comfort of our own home, which was perfect especially as my babies are due any day now. My daughter and I feel much more confident in knowing what to do in a range of emergency situations and I also got some extra twin tips from Kate as a fellow twin Mum! We have seen hundreds of clients go through the Infection Control Course and heard nothing but positive feedback. They were able to do everything in their own time and now have the ability to promote their certificate/badge to all current and future customers which has helped them secure both venues and new clients. Forth Valley Mini First Aid Rated 5 stars on Trustpilot I attended the mini first aid course with my two daughters. My aim was to get useful information that would help me in my new granny role. The 2hour session had a great amount of very relevant first aid delivered in a friendly manner by Lynsay. This included a booklet, hands on sessions with baby and child first aid mannequins. I left feeling much more confident if I ever find myself having to use the training. Although there was a lot covered Lynsay emailed additional resource links and encouraged you to get in touch if anything needed clarified. There was also the chance purchase some useful items. I attended the baby & child first aid class today in Dalgety Bay. It was very relaxed & had lots of useful information. Was great to be able to try out some techniques on the dummys too. Especially seeing how hard you need to give the back blows to a baby! I stocked up on my first aid kits at the end of class too 😊 24/04/2024

Lynsay was great she put everyone at ease especially the younger attendees (lm 59).She detailed the schedule for the day and it ran like like clockwork finishing bang on time. The course was informative and the both the practical and theory were great. There were plenty opportunities for breaks/coffee etc and everyone was fully engaged for the entirety of the day . We had a private baby and child first aid class at the weekend at our house with friends and family as we’re expecting in the new year. Lynsay was fantastic, the class was so informative and it was really beneficial to be able to practice some of the skills on the dummy’s she had brought with her. I attended my 2 hour first aid session last night and couldn’t recommend it enough. It gave just the right amount of information to leave me feeling confident should I need to use first aid. Lynsay delivered everything so clearly and ensured we all kept up in a gentle and informative way. Sky are always looking for ways to better support their staff and Parents@Sky Network offers support and benefits to staff who are parents. I came across Mini First Aid through a Facebook promotion and there was a huge demand for the Infant and Child First Aid class which was shared on our internal and external social channels. The communication and organisation of the event was excellent - Sarah-Lou was professional, engaging and even injected some parent style humour! The class was interactive and educational - everyone took something away from it including much more confidence in dealing with any emergencies which could arise with their little ones. The feedback received on the back of it was amazing! It was a great success and hopefully something we can do again, and potentially roll out to other sites in the UK. Lynsay, the course leader delivered a brilliant session that has positively impacted on our confidence levels in dealing with any of the topics covered. The opportunity to practise CPR and choking treatment was invaluable. The class was really welcoming and friendly and we both felt that we could ask any questions we had. It was also great to be able to bring our 4 month old baby along. This meant that we could both attend the class which we felt important. As a new Mum, Lynsay made me feel comfortable to move around with the baby, and to feed, change and allow the baby to squeal during the class. She was even happy to help out with the babies. As well as new and improved knowledge and skills, we were also able purchase some items to help us deliver effective first aid at home. However, there was no pressure put on us to purchase these. Mini First Aid really are the best for all your first aid needs! I found the company online through researching baby first aid products and the reviews were so great that I had to buy and try, and I was so impressed! The first aid kits really are so extensive! I want to say a huge thank you to Angie from Mini First Aid for coming to our home to teach my family and I baby first aid! I had some basic knowledge but it didn’t compare to the hands on approach in our class where we got to practice techniques. Angie was incredible and so patient with us, and the lesson was invaluable to us as new parents!

One afternoon, we were enjoying a day out in the sunshine and had stopped to feed our daughter of 7 months, she’s just started solid food and we’d been giving her sliced banana to chew on. On this particular day, she inhaled a small piece and began to choke. I quickly remembered Martin’s words, put her in the proper hold, bottom in the air and one forceful strike between her shoulder blades dislodged the banana and although she was shocked, she was able to breathe again and I can’t tell you how relieved we felt! It may have only been 10 seconds in which she couldn’t breathe but it was terrifying. Had I not had the training from Martin and Mini First Aid, I cannot even begin to imagine how differently the situation could have turned out. In fact, I’d go as far to say that the training I received enabled me to save our daughter’s life.

It was a pleasure meeting Kate and Jacky from Mini First Aid and being taught what to do in case of an emergency. Learning CPR and what to do when a child is choking is invaluable. Obviously, I hope I never had to use the things I learned in today’s class, but horrible things happen and knowing these techniques can really make a huge difference. The class was fun and accessible given the seriousness of the topic. I would highly recommend everyone doing it.

This weekend myself and five mummy friends had a private Mini First Aid session from the comfort of my own home. Now I’ve done it I can’t believe I hadn’t done it sooner, what a no-brainer!! It’s a great feeling knowing that I’d know what to do should a situation arise. All in all, I can’t recommend it enough so get your session booked in now!

I attended the Baby and Child class with Claire on 31st Oct. The session was very good and as a new granny I found it useful. I have attended first aid courses previously and knew some of the basics but this was a great refresher course with up to date advice. Being able to practice on the baby and child mannequins helped to increase my confidence. Claire was very friendly and we all felt relaxed and comfortable asking questions.

I did a blended pediatric first aid course in St Andrews on the 30th of November with Lynsay. I did 6 hours online and 6 hours in the class on the Saturday. The facilities were fantastic with a bonus of free parking. Lynsay is very organised and had everything set up by the time I arrived. She is friendly and very knowledgeable. This was by far the best first aid course that I’ve ever been on. She made it fun and interesting and was very hands on going through everything throughly. She really is good at what she does. Nice little bonus was that coffee and tea was offered as well as a lovely sweet treat. I cannot recommend Lynsay enough. Thank you so much Lynsay for everything. Practical and Comprehensive Yesterday I completed my Paediatric Emergency First Aid course with Lynsay (Forth Valley). Lynsay’s teaching style ensures that everyone understands and is able to demonstrate the skills needed for emergencies that may occur with babies and children. She also ensured there was time to answer questions. I came away feeling far more confident in my ability to deal with paediatric emergencies. This class was super informative and left me feeling confident that I’ll be able to support my daughter if an emergency was to arise! I was nervous going into class especially upon realising I was the only one attending solo but Claire had the class feeling totally relaxed and a safe space! I felt able to speak up and ask questions and Claire got us all involved without that pressure feeling of feeling forced to speak up and answer questions! I also really liked that there was the option to purchase products at end without these being pushed on you! I recently attended the Mini First Aid Fife Course in Dalgety Bay at the end of October. I’ve always worried about things, managed to deal with it but then when my first baby came along my anxiety sky rocketed. Her whole life depends on me and that alone made me 10x more anxious. This first aid course really put my mind at ease and in a very relaxed, yet professional manner, Lynsay was able to provide me with tools and techniques (should I need them) regarding baby and tots first aid. We are so glad we have done a Mini First Aid class. We enjoyed the class, found it really useful and feel so much more prepared in the build up to having our baby.
The class was absolutely excellent! Lynsay answered any questions and always gave reasons for the various actions or procedures for the various conditions I could potentially encounter. It was very interactive and hugely informative - just the right tempo. I had always wanted to do a first aid course and SO pleased I did this one. The booklet I was left with is superb too. There are a gazillion things I never seem to get around to doing (fixing the broken blind in our bedroom, getting some photos printed of ‘the baby’ who is almost two but still doesn’t exist on our walls, pinning down the coffee date I’ve been promising my neglected friend via WhatsApp for at least 6 months…) BUT this morning I finally got my arse in gear and ticked off something from my ‘Really Must Do’ list by attending a First Aid class designed specifically for parents, grandparents and carers of babies and young children. It took just two hours out of my morning and covered a whole host of stuff including what to do if a child is choking, how to deal with burns/breaks/bleeding and the basics of life-saving CPR for kids.
Holly, our trainer was an excellent facilitator. The session was informative and enjoyable, and the class size made it feel accessible and easy for everyone to get stuck in. Holly's first-hand experience in the field, coupled with being a parent made the information really palatable and relatable. She made sure to have inclusive material which was perfect for the multicultural group we were in. I'd highly recommend the class if you want to arm yourself with the confidence to respond to a child in an emergency situation.
I learned so much from the Mini First Aid adult awareness class. I feel confident about what to do in a range of first aid situations or emergencies. For the first time, I’ve seen images of what burns look like on black and brown as well as white skin. I know what signs to look for if a child is choking, as these can look different, depending on your skin colour. Thanks Mini First Aid for making your classes relevant to everyone.

St Joseph’s School, Wetherby (Early Years class) Our Nursery class love to get involved in whole-school curriculum enrichment activities but First Aid for 3-4 year olds? Even for our well-seasoned teachers, this sounded like a tall order. How wrong we were! Our sessions with Claire were absolutely brilliant. Skillful teaching, great resources, clear messages and important safety information; empowering our children to feel like mini first aiders. With the help of Max the teddy, we learned simple first aid techniques for cuts, scrapes and head bumps; as well as learning how to make someone comfortable by lying them on their side if they are very poorly. We learned about how you may need to phone 999 in an emergency and that you need to know your address. The children absolutely loved The ‘Mini Adventures of Freddie’ story which brought everything together perfectly. Thank-you Claire. Never underestimate 3-4 year olds! They really can save lives!

Lynsay's class was relaxed and packed full of useful information. However, I felt that the way Lynsay explained each area made the info easy to retain. I've done other first aid courses before and this is the most comprehensive and helpful one yet, with lots of opportunities to practice your techniques on dummies. Fully stocked first aid kits were available to buy at responsible prices, which I did as I knew I would forget to restock once home. Highly recommend this class. I recently attended peadatric first aid course, and it was absolutely fantastic! The training was engaging, informative, and completely free of boring slide shows. Lyndsay, our instructor, was friendly, approachable, and down to earth. She has an amazing way of explaining everything clearly and made the content relatable and easy to understand. By the end of the course, I felt confident and prepared to deliver first aid in real-life situations. Rated 5 out of 5 stars Great for grandparents I attended a class at the weekend run by Lynsay Allan in Dunfermline, Fife. I am about to start looking after my 11 month old grandson for a day or two a week soon and was looking to remind myself how to deal with emergencies should they occur. I found the class to be excellent - it was well structured, informative, and moved along at pace. There was a chance to to ask questions and to try out the best practice. The workbook has all of the key points listed and the products for sale at the end of the class are all reasonably priced / very handy to have in the house. I would strongly recommend this 2 hour investment for grandparents who may think they know all of this stuff - but like me, probably don't... Date of experience: September 07, 2024

My daughter attend the Early Years class and it was great. Super informative and delivered really well for little children to remember. My daughter loved it. I'd highly recommend it. It's so important for them to have these tools. They learnt about plasters and bandages, recovery position, 999, what to do about a head trauma and the signs to look out for, and more. Rated 5 out of 5 stars My partner and I (along with our 6… My partner and I (along with our 6 month old) went to a mini first aid class in fife hosted by Lynsay, we were nervous about the dangers of weaning and also a little apprehensive of our little one causing disruption to the 2 hour class. Lynsay put us instantly at ease and was very informative and patient with everyone, the session was highly interactive and Lynsay even offered to hold babies where needed so everyone to try out techniques. The session flew by and at the end we felt much more assured about how to give first aid not only to babies but to children (1-18 years). Rated 5 out of 5 stars Mini First Aid Course Today me, my wife and our 5.5 month old baby attended a course led by Lyndsay (in Dunfermline) and we were very impressed by the content of the course, but even more by the instructor who clearly takes pride in the quality of her work and was very knowledgeable, kind and patient with the course delegates. We left with confidence of how we would intervene in aiding our little one for a wide array of potential medical scenarios that hopefully will never arise. As a consequence, this information and Lyndsay's kind instruction will be invaluable for us as we raise our wee man. Many thanks to Mini First Aid, and especially out wonderful instructor. My partner and I had a great experience at baby and child first aid yesterday. Lynsay was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and supportive throughout the experience. We were a little nervous to attend but as soon as we arrived she put us at ease. We learned so much but not overwhelmingly so which was fantastic. We definitely left feeling more confident which was the whole aim. Thank you, I recommend anyone who has kids, is having them or looking after them to come on this course. I attended a baby and child first aid course with Lynsay and it was just what I was looking for. All the things I had been worrying about not knowing how to deal with were covered and I came away feeling so much more informed and able to deal with issues that might occur with my baby. Lynsay was great and made the environment relaxed despite the scary nature of some topics which was fab as I think a relaxed environment is much easier to learn in. Added bonus was that I could take my wee boy with me which is ideal if you might be lacking in childcare options! My wee one was made welcome and he just went about his business - playing with the dummies when he wasn't sleeping 🙈😂. Being able to bring him with me was such a nice option to have as I think I would have struggled to attend otherwise. All in all, an excellent class for the price that all parents/grandparents/carers would benefit from! Highly recommend! Facebook recommendation

I had booked my son in for a class yesterday. Despite my son being the only person to turn up, Lynsay was happy to go ahead with the class. She made us feel very welcome and was very attentive to my son and taught him in a fun and engaging way.
